“Sapper (Demining)” Vocational Training

Ukrainian Training Centre “Defender” of the NGO “Kyiv Volunteer Fire Service” provides vocational training for the occupation of “Sapper (Demining)”.

The programme prepares qualified specialists to work in humanitarian demining and mine action.

Educational activities comply with Ukrainian legislation and are delivered within the relevant licence and approved educational programme.

About the profession

As a result of the war, large areas of Ukraine require survey and clearance of mines, munitions and explosive remnants of war.

The sapper profession requires discipline, responsibility, attention to detail, psychological resilience and thorough vocational preparation.

Training therefore combines theory with practical classes led by relevant specialists.

What participants study

The vocational programme covers mine action, occupational safety and safety practices, basic identification of explosive ordnance, organising land surveys, use of specialised equipment and personal protective equipment, first aid and other subjects included in the educational programme.

Practical training focuses on developing safe professional skills in a controlled learning environment.

Course duration

Vocational training duration: 3 months.

The course includes theoretical and practical components and is organised in accordance with the approved training programme.

Education document

After successfully completing the full course, required assessments and confirmation of learning outcomes, the participant receives an appropriate vocational education document in accordance with legislation and the licensed educational programme.

Training and issued documents are recorded according to the established procedure.
